Collection: Retinal

Retinal (retinaldehyde) is the form of vitamin A closest to the active form among cosmetic retinoids. In the CosIng database it is listed under the INCI name RETINAL with a skin conditioning function, and brands frame it against retinol themselves: By Wishtrend states it improves skin condition faster than retinol, and Celimax calls it a more advanced form of vitamin A.

Korean formulas almost always arrive stabilized: Celimax declares 0.1% liposomal retinal, By Wishtrend states its dose as 300 ppm of retinal alongside bakuchiol. The rhythm matters more than the number — brands direct a gradual start, every other evening or two to three times a week, building up as skin adjusts, with sunscreen through the day.

Retinal belongs to the evening routine; anyone pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding should discuss any retinoid with their doctor first. How retinal differs from retinol and how to introduce it without irritation — in the retinal guide.
