Blotting papers are thin sheets you press against the skin to lift the oil that has come to the surface. The manufacturer describes them as ultra-thin, silky sheets that absorb excess surface oil and leave a matte finish without disturbing makeup.
That is what sets them apart from touching up with powder. Powder adds something to the face; a blotting sheet only takes off what is already sitting on top, so the base stays as it was — the manufacturer states plainly that the sheets are designed not to smudge foundation. Which is why they tend to live in a handbag or a desk drawer: this is a quick mid-day fix, not a step in a skincare routine.
The method is short: press a sheet gently onto the areas that get oily — forehead, nose, chin — without rubbing, and throw it away afterwards. Rubbing would only shift the makeup, and not shifting it is the whole point of the sheet. Repeat as often as the day calls for.
