Collection: Foot Care

Foot care is a category with one honest job: to soften hardened skin and keep it from cracking, above all on the heels. Korean brands go about it with fat-rich formulas — shea butter, macadamia oil, paraffin — and with formats that hold all of it against the skin long enough to work.

A foot mask is a single serving of such a formula; the maker states its purpose plainly: to leave rough, cracked feet hydrated and smooth. The overnight heel patch is even more targeted: a thin film sticks to the heel alone and stays till morning. In one Korean maker's version the film is a mere 0.05 mm, carrying shea butter at a heavy 20,000 ppm, urea, and mild acids that help the hardened layer let go; a special coating keeps the essence from seeping through, so the bedding stays clean. That is the whole point of the format: a cream would have rubbed off by morning, the patch works all night.

Choosing is simple: everyday dryness takes a light foot cream; a rough heel that snags on tights takes several nights of patches or a run of masks. Both are smarter started before summer than in July, when open shoes have already shown everything the sneakers were hiding.
